What You Need to Know About Stage 15
Heads up – today starts with a bit of a wake-up call! Right at the beginning of your 15th stage on the Camino de Santiago, you’ll hit a decent climb that’ll probably get you sweating a bit. But it’s short-lived! After the initial ascent, it’s downhill and then mostly flat for the rest of the day.
You’re covering 25 kilometers from Castrojeriz to Frómista today.
Big milestone alert: You’ve now been on The French Way for over two weeks and have already walked more than 330 kilometers since starting in St. Jean Pied de Port. That’s huge! In just a few more days, you’ll hit the halfway point to Santiago de Compostela. Pretty amazing when you think about it, right?
Don’t miss: Frómista’s Church of San Martín de Tours is a stunning 11th-century Romanesque masterpiece and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It’s one of the most beautiful churches along the entire Camino route – definitely worth a visit when you arrive!
Curious about what’s still ahead on your journey? Our eBook „Camino Francés for Beginners“ breaks down the entire route with stage-by-stage details, highlights what to look forward to, and helps you pace yourself for the second half of your pilgrimage.
Bottom line: A moderate day with one challenging climb at the start, rewarded with a gorgeous medieval church at the finish. Plus, you’re so close to that halfway mark!
