What You Need to Know About Stage 25
Before you head out today (or maybe last night), definitely check out Ponferrada’s Templar Castle if you haven’t already. It’s pretty impressive and worth the quick visit!
Today’s stage on the Camino de Santiago is a pleasant 24 kilometers over about 5 hours from Ponferrada to Villafranca del Bierzo. Nothing too crazy – you’ll actually have time to enjoy the scenery!
Wine lovers, rejoice! You’re walking through the beautiful Bierzo wine region today. The landscape is dotted with vineyards, and depending on the season and day of the week, you might even get to do some wine tasting along The French Way. Now that’s what we call a good walking day!
Bittersweet milestone: Less than 200 kilometers to Santiago now. Wild, right? Santiago is getting closer whether you like it or not. And here’s the thing – your feet might be celebrating this fact, but your soul? It might want to keep walking forever in this simple, fulfilling daily rhythm of walking, eating, and sleeping.
That’s the Camino magic. Just when you think you want it to be over, you realize you don’t want it to end.
Feeling emotional about the end approaching? Our eBook „Camino Francés for Beginners“ addresses the mixed emotions many pilgrims feel as Santiago gets closer and offers advice on making the most of your final days on the Camino Francés.
Bottom line: A manageable day through gorgeous wine country. Savor it – literally and figuratively!
Buen Camino! 🥾🍷
