What You Need to Know About Stage 32
One last time, you shoulder your backpack. One last time, you tie your boots. One last regular walking day on the Camino de Santiago.
Tomorrow, you’ll be in Santiago. Tomorrow, you’ll stand in front of that famous cathedral you’ve seen in so many photos. Tomorrow, everything changes.
So today? Today you take every single one of those 20 kilometers and really FEEL them. Walk slowly. Notice everything. Talk to your fellow pilgrims. Look at the lush green Galician landscape. This is it.
About today’s walk on The French Way: From Arzúa to O Pedrouzo, the terrain is gently rolling but not too challenging. You’ll be walking through beautiful, verdant Galicia – all that green you’ve been enjoying since entering this region.
At just 20 kilometers over 4.5 hours, it’s an easier day, which is perfect because you’ll want time to process everything tonight.
Tonight is special: O Pedrouzo (also called Arca or Pedrouzo) is THE classic last-night stop before Santiago. Albergues will be packed with pilgrims, all buzzing with excitement and emotion. The energy is incredible – a mix of celebration, tears, laughter, and disbelief.
Many pilgrims stay up late sharing stories, exchanging contact info, and maybe having a few drinks. It’s like the night before graduation – you don’t want it to end!
Feeling all the emotions? Our eBook „Camino Francés for Beginners“ helps you navigate the intense emotions of these final days, explains what to expect at the cathedral, and guides you through the practical details of your arrival in Santiago.
Bottom line: An easy walking day that’s anything but ordinary. This is your last night as a pilgrim on the trail. Savor every moment.
Buen Camino! 🥾💛
