What You Need to Know About Stage 7
Get ready for a longer day on the Camino de Santiago! Today you’ll cover 28 kilometers – one of your longer stages so far. But here’s the good news: the terrain is pretty flat with minimal elevation gain, so you can actually enjoy the scenery instead of huffing and puffing uphill.
And what scenery! Today you’re leaving the Navarra region behind and entering one of Spain’s most delicious destinations: the Rioja wine region. Yep, THE Rioja! The landscape transforms into rolling vineyards, and honestly, it’s pretty spectacular.
Your destination is Logroño, a fantastic city with a beautiful old town that’s absolutely worth exploring. After a long day of walking through wine country, you’ll definitely want to treat yourself to some local tapas (called „pinchos“ here) and maybe a glass of Rioja wine. You’ve earned it!
Heads up: This is a longer stage, so pace yourself and start early if possible. The flat terrain helps, but 28 kilometers is still 28 kilometers.
Planning your Camino stages? Our eBook „Camino Francés for Beginners“ helps you figure out how to split up your journey, which stages to take easy, and how to plan rest days on The French Way.
Bottom line: A longer but rewarding day that brings you into wine country and one of the Camino’s best cities for an evening out!
Buen Camino! 🥾🍷
