What You Need to Know About Stage 8
Heads up – another long day ahead! You’ll be covering 29 kilometers from Logroño to Nájera on the Camino de Santiago. But the good news? No crazy elevation changes, so it’s mostly flat walking.
And there’s plenty to keep you entertained along the way:
Navarrete: A charming little artist town that’s perfect for a coffee break.
Tedéon Hill: Features castle ruins and amazing 360-degree views. Totally worth the short detour!
Nájera: Your destination has a beautiful former Benedictine monastery that’s perfect for some peaceful contemplation after a long day.
Here’s the thing though: You don’t HAVE to walk these long stages! That’s what’s so great about The French Way – there are tons of albergues along the route. Today, for example, you could stop in Navarrete or Ventosa (just 7 km further).
Remember, the Camino isn’t a race. It’s a journey to yourself, and slowing down can actually be the best part. Listen to your body and walk at your own pace!
Need help planning your ideal daily distances? Our eBook „Camino Francés for Beginners“ gives you flexible stage planning tips, shows you where to split longer sections, and helps you find the perfect rhythm for YOUR Camino.
Bottom line: Another lengthy stage with some lovely highlights, but remember – you can always make it shorter if you need to!
Buen Camino! 🥾
